Extra bits in EPB brake kit?

I am looking to replace the ancient pins in my parking brake and renew the springs so went looking for a kit. Several of the new kits include 2 extra springs. This is the Bosch one:-

They’re not needed on D3. Best guess is they’re used on RRS on some models.

Shame. I thought they may have been a new design to get over needing three hands to fit the brakes.
