Extensive Car First Aid Kit, eBay

Been on the hunt for a decent extensive first aid kit to keep in the car during expeditions abroad and off the beaten track. Found this on eBay tonight:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200-Piece-Emerg...2749.l2649

For £23 I think it seems very thorough, well priced, and well packaged. Have ordered one and I suspect it will live under the third row seats with the recovery gear.

Hopefully of use to others too.

Excellent spot.... can’t recommend highly enough having something like this in your boot...

I make sure that every car/lorry we own has a large first aid kit in the boot... you never know when you will need it! Very Happy

Excellent idea, have a bog standard kit in all my cars but may upgrade to this..

Also suggest that everyone carry a fire extinguisher, hi-vis vest, warning triangle and break glass hammer... why are these items not a legal requirement ?

Even if you can't (or don't want to) use them yourself there will be someone around who can and will!

I have a first aid kit in each car, and consider them essential.

In addition to the fire extinguisher, hi-vis vest, warning triangle & break glass hammer, recommended by NigelTheCat I would suggest that you also carry, as I do in every car:-

A LED rotating warning beacon - I actually have 2 in the Discovery, only £12.82:-

and a decent powerful LED torch.

I won't recommend a particular one, there are plenty of threads here expressing different views.

LED flares are great bits of kit. Used 3 for a RTC last year and the police and fire brigade were very impressed when they turned up Thumbs Up

The FAK is full of cheap dressings and 120 pieces of it are plasters Wink but better than nothing

The tourniquet in the trauma option looks useless and you may be better off improvising if you really need something.

Better to buy a proper bit of kit and be trained to use it. Thumbs Up

But as others have said a proper FAK should be a must for every motorist.

The LED beacons look really useful Thumbs Up

Winter time I’ve got extra gloves and jacket in the vehicle. Glass hammers and belt cutters also. Dry fruit/nut bars but in the the winter they’re like concrete if you need to eat them Whistle

Summer time extra water bottles.

I pack a larger trauma kit with oropharyngeal airways in both vehicles. The one you referred to looks nice for almost all “normal” use. All of the “sterile” gauze and pads are fine even after expiry since you’re not anyway in a sterile environment and the primary objective is ABC(DE). Not sure if quickclot is sold in U.K.? It can be quite useful sometimes. It does have an expiration date, though.

In the disco I’ve also got a toolkit, two brake light switches, one of each of most bulbs. High visibility vests for 7 persons.

Drive safely y’all. Thumbs Up
