Extended Warranty in France |
|
I wonder if anyone living in France with a D3 can give me some advice/info. We currently have our house in the UK on the market, with the intention of moving permanently to our home in France (Deux Sevres) when it sells!!. I have a 2004 D3 HSE (LH drive, euro Spec, 34,000Km on clock) that I intend to register there (no problem, I'm aux fait with the process). The problem I have is extended warranty. Mine runs out 31 July 07 and I am very keen to renew it before this date. Having been in touch with LR UK, they inform me its going to cost £1244 for a years extension (how much ??They must be joking) and that it only covers UK with a maximum of 90 days per year abroad - no good to me if I sell house and move. I've been toying with the idea of an independent warranty (something like Warranty Direct) which is a lot cheaper but has the same rules as LR. My questions are: 1) Is it possible to purchase a LR warranty from a French LR dealer - if so, how much am I looking at, assuming I move to France before original warranty runs out. 2) Are there independent warranties available, as in UK- if so, are they any good and which is the best one to contact.
Apolgies for convoluted explanation - any help/advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

There are extended warranties available in France. We bought one with our own D3. But it was included in the credit and I am not sure whom will be providing it. Thus I cannot counsel you on those...
Did you try asking your company in the UK to whom they could refer you to ? Georgia On My Mind...
