I can't think any roof-rail noise would be heard over the A-pillar noise
I personally can't hear any wind-noise increase over the shorter rails I had on the 3,even though I now have the sunroof "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

No noticeable wind noise on mine. They came from "Slimer" so maybe slightly different design/alignment. The wind noise would be created by the rubber gaskets that sit between the rails and the roof and if they're not sitting flush when the vehicle is in motion, they will create a noise I guess.

I upgraded my oe roof rails to full length, for the looks and summat to grab onto if washing the roof
give you something to bolt the Reindeer antlers on in the time coming up to Chrimbo
....if you dont use them for attachments they must cost you in additional fuel
...after that its just vanity thinking the this blingish adornment "looks" better
...personally I dont like them & they will probably corrode horribly when the powder coat flakes degrading the DiscoBREXIT - done properly.

To clarify my comment. There is a noise issue when a RAI is introduced when the extended rails are fitted. Remove the top hat on the RAI and the noise is not as bad.
Ref the RAI extended rails wind noise
I have contacted Mantec to see if they had any ideas. They were not aware of an issue they requested some pics which I have sent. I have tried all sorts of rubber strips and tape between the RAI top hat and rail, all to no avail. As mentioned I have replaced mine with the standard rails. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I like the extended rails. Much more utilitarian and functional... better for the full length Snowboard box, carrying roofing sheets etc...
It all depends if you are viewing purely as an aesthetic thing.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder...1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

Don't like them, didn't have them - I suppose its more important to ask, do you need them.
I cant see a case where the standards aren't long enough in our use...but maybe you do something that needs longer?Mike

For me it is not a matter of needing the extended rails I would say it is for a more aesthetic look Cheers Ian
