IIRC you can continue with LR Extended warranty until the vehicle reaches 7 - so after 8 years you would have to go elsewhere. But after the vehicle is 5 years old or has done 70000 miles you drop down from the full LR extended warranty to the LR select warranty - I have a book somewhere listing whats covered - will try to find it.

Hi
Approved Extended warranty applies to under 5 years/75,000 miles. Select Extended Warranty is up to 10 years/100,000 miles.
My 57 plate wasn't eligible for approved as covered 88,000 miles. I have taken out Select, which at my level of mileage is 1 year or 25,000 miles. Select covers all major failures, mechanical or electrical with a single claim limit of £3,000.

Like blue meanie above, was told by my dealer that If I renewed week before the D3 was 5 years old I would get the full warranty for the next year too.

Out of interest - how much do the LR dealers charge for 12m of Extended warranty? (if vehicle is under 5yrs old)?
Anyone used Warranty Direct? If so, can anyone recommend then?....Just wondered how their policy's compared to LR ones?
Mines 4yrs old now.....debating whether to renew with LR or go aftermarket for some added cover. Any advice greatly received.......
£89, a month for 10 months for approved warr , mines on 68,000 @ only 3 years old so next one for me is select even though it wil be 4 years old . 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .

Some dealers sell other warranties too. My local dealer sold me three year's extended policy from Car Care Plan (who i think underwrite the LR extended warranty) for the same cost as one year's LR warranty.
Just bear in mind that an extended warranty isn't a cheap alternative to preventative maintenance, and it won't necessarily pay out for the common wear and tear items that will come up. I went for it to be sure I wouldn't have any big unexpected bills like an engine or gearbox and I'm happy that for me it was worthwhile.

Thanks for the feedback....much appreciated.
I'm just looking for some additional "cover" for when / if the big issues arise (engine, gearbox, t/x etc).
£89pcm from LR for 10 months is not too bad....but i'd had a quote for Warranty Direct (13 months policy, full cover at LR approved dealers (not local garages)) for £850.....so that seems a better deal.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of dealing with Warranty Direct and wether they'd recommend them or not (before i shell-out)

Forgot to add , that includes Lr assistance as well , as we go to France camping so covers you and caravan abroad , so a better deal than warr d , at least for the first year after my 3 years Lr ran out , I might try somebody else on my 4 year old d3 , 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .
