expedition roof rack
Hi folks. Just looking for a bit of info on the expedition roof rack for a disco3. Ive read a few threads that seem to criticise the land rover version because of wind noise and lack of strength. Can anyone agree or disagree, offer an similar less expensive option / alternative or give me any general help before i shell out my hard earned at my local dealership. Also is it possible to fit the thule bike holders to the expedition rack. Cheers

Hi Dick, welcome to the forum
Whatever you put on the roof it will increase the wind noise, but with the expo there is a home modification you can do to stop the wind entering underneath and eliminating SOME of the noise.
I do find mine noisy, but it does look 8) , and carrys all I need, but remember, the Expo canny hold much weight TBH, so if you looking for load lugging then the Front Runner is better.

Yep, the Front Runner is a good rack, and lot have used one and ideal as it has no cowling and edges like the Expo, not sure how much they are but contact 10forCash, and he will give you a price on Supply n Fit
There are others for better load lugging. For me the expo was just what I wanted. I can walk all over it, but I am one of the lighter members on the forum
Best get hold of Iain - TFC and he will do a better deal than your LR Dealer, or Nick from Yeovil LR. (The Large One).

I have an expo rack. I was also concerned about the weight carrying capability. But I walked all over mine with no worries. I travelled all round Morocco with 2 cans of fuel, spare wheel and a few other bits and bobs with no problems.

I bought mine via the forum and it had a floor plate already on it-
As you can see from the Pic it takes the weight of me and my son-
As for noise it isn't noisy until about 60mph and then it does make a low noise which is easil cancelled out by the radio-
MPG goes down though, I only get about 28mpg with the roof and no load when I could get over 30mpg before
