Can you tell me how much I paid for them? I take it you got them from the same place. PM me if you want, thanks.
If you have any pics that would be great

Well my pipe ends arrived today as well, the receipt was in the box so I now know what I paid, it was £8.99 each plus £7.75 carriage plus vat, so total was £30.23p
I was surprised at the cost of fitting, local garage charged £85 but he was under the car for a good hour, so he must have done a good job. Here are the pics:
Before
After
And a couple of pictures from underneath
Only joking about the garage fitting and fitting cost by the way, I did it myself in a couple of minutes, reminded me of being 17yrs old again and pimping my ride

My original tail pipes must be lower than yours, as I have no where near that much "hole" showing on the back of mine. I've got them up fairly close to the bumper (maybe 10-12mm gap).

So should the trims be pushed up further to completely cover the hole, I thought diesel exhausts had to face down. I must say that this morning all I had was a bloody great cloud of smoke following me filling the rear screen, I think I am confusing the exhaust gases with two holes each side. I hope it doen't affect my performnace by restricting gas escape
Any help gratefuly received.

You cant push them up enough to completely cover the hole as your bumper is in the way, but they can can up a bit more than you seem to have them on your pics. About 10-12mm clearance from the chrome bit to the underside of you bumper seems about right. Yes, as the gases are now coming out both down and back, you do get some exhasut smoke coming up round the back. It doesnt in any way restrict the exhaust.
I'll take some more pics of mine in a minute

Thanks, I will give that a go, I just didn't want the pipe rattling against the bumper but your suggestion seems ideal, I just didn't want to gas myself otherwise the forum could have lost a very useful member

PS, given these are only a thin bit of metal, chromed, I did almost 80k miles on the old one (about 78k with these fitted), took them off (via a hacksaw on the u bolts), refitted on the new one and already added another 6k, so they last very well for a bit of cheap chrome. Volvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark

How do you get them straight? I kept getting up and down and eyeing them up from the rear trying to get them in line, then got told on here they are squint, it seemed each time I screwed them they twisted a little, maybe need to get my hands on it tightly. I will try it with the engine off next time, the only reason I put the engine on was the first time I was under it the suspension went phsssssss and lowered I banged my head on the bottom the of car trying to get out, I thought I was going to die
Or I may just go to the dealer and get it done, but I guess they would take longer because of the time spent dropping tools with uncontrolled laughter at what nonsense they were fitting
I'm used to wearing a suit, not all this manual stuff, but I must say it is more fun and dirtier than being in an office with a PA pestering you for sex, never got bruises and that high a heart rate with the PA

flash bang wallop - straight trims and lights in bumper
put sus in off road mode, turn off engine, fit trims, pinch bolts up (not tight, just enouth to hold), get out from under and check, look down the side of the car for "straighness", (and look along the center line of the exhaust and the trims to see the "straightness"), when sorted, tighten nuts (on the trims )
