Ukraine 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

I had a T-Max split charge system in my D3 with and Odessy battery and voltage sensing in my D4. with a yellow top battery. Both work equally as well. Thumbs Up

In both cars I took power to the rear through the bulk head and under the lower door sill cover. Really easy and plenty of room. Thumbs Up

Also, random thought, get good insect repellent and anti histamine cream / tablets. Thumbs Up

Moo - thanks for the advice.

I'm planning for the simplest system possible, just don't understand electrics.

Any thoughts on the gauge of the 4m +tve cable I need to run from the battery up front to the fuse panel in the rear?

Thanks

Pete

Hi, after all the advice, a short update on how it went.

Nine weeks and one day, but didn't make it to Africa. Simply ran out of time in Europe (thanks to Brexit 90 day limit).

Managed France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, (ferry to) Italy, Switzerland, France (again), Spain then ferry back to UK.

Took enough tools to rebuild the truck, but didn't need any of them. VSR and fridge were fine.

Fuel varied from €1.60 - €2.20 / ltr. (happy with 29mpg).

Amazing experience - camping, mountains, lakes, beaches, towns and cities. And of course the people.

Only bad day was a break-in whilst spending our wedding anniversary in a hotel in Genoa.

JLR were amazing and overnighted the two windows from Bologna, which were fitted the next morning.

Lost a few bits but otherwise all good.

I could crash the internet with photos so just a couple to prove it.

Trieste

Santander

Thanks to all who provided advice.

Africa next.

Pete

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip ….. break-in excluded.

Would def be interested in hearing & seeing more.
So would be great if you raised a separate thread and posted your diary detail along with the many pics you’ve taken.

Hopefully looking forward to it. Thumbs Up
