if you do manage to find one then give Stuart Collins a call they do 12months green card for EU and can cover a car on the VIN for 1 week whilst the car is being registered in the UK
There is a 2009 V8 SE on ebay almost new for 27500

Steve, sounds even more like a scam!! If it was me I'd have binned it way down the line and looked elsewhere, even if it was ideal and cheaper than the rest. As SWMBO says to me when i think I've found a bargain "if it looks too good to be true you are going to get ripped off!". Plenty more fish in the sea.

Only problem with that is that a 'green card' is not actually insurance !!
It is just proof that the minimum legal requirements for third party liability insurance in any country for which the Green Card is valid are covered by the insured's ownmotor policy.

To Hids4u, thanks for teh heads up on a 2009 on eBay. In fact, the same car I am interested in is on eBay too, the 2007 Black HSE. Any further opinions folks? - I still not yet received any response.
Ref. Stuart Collins Insurance has already provided with a quote, quite reasonable rates, which I will enquire further.Disco ex-owner wanting to return to roots!!

green card actually is not even required but what i meant by the reference is if you are a UK expat then no one in the UK will insure you if you tell them you dont live in the uk. they will allow you upto 90 days off the island (UK) in mainland europe. but if you tell them you actually are not strictly UK resident they will hang up on you (well almost)
Stuart Collins are the only guys i have found where you tell them that your car will be out of the country with you for a whole year. full insurance and they do in fact issue a green card. you dont even have to have a UK address
price doesnt look too cheap i would say. i sold my 2007 in Poland last December for less
I have a 2009.5 HSE black i keep thinking about selling. with only 6k KM could be persuaded to part with it if the price was right
I have my insurance with Stuart Collins its around 900/yr

Looking at his ebay profile - no feedback, no mention of selling for a friend, and his ebay name suggests he is a wanna be dealer (xxLHD)
its not been near a body shop? well the painted wheel arches have!
no rubber mat in front of sat nav and i dont like pimped wheels
no mention of previous history nor service history

The seller did respond stating there is no service history records, but to verify with the owner in Ireland. Plan to contact him tomorrow.
Still intrigued to see how it pans out even though I still think of it being a scam as my questions have not yet been answered. The 'not been to a body shop' line, does not sit well, as you pointed out (well spotted) the wheel arches have been for a 2007 version.
I'm looking for a LHD D3 V8 HSE on preferably a 2007/8, though a 2006 would be acceptable. Is your black HSE at V8 with only 6k, could be tempted? send me a PM.......
Stuart Collins quoted me 800/yr.Disco ex-owner wanting to return to roots!!

Well, not a murmur. I believe this is a scam, or the friend selling the car, is not interested to sell it, as I have not received any response to my questions.
Plus, the price just went up another 2k and it was on eBay for 30K EUR, no takers there either!
Probably have lost interest in it, though still intrigued to find out if it sells.
Folks - thanks for the all the valuable advice kindly offered.Disco ex-owner wanting to return to roots!!
