EPB Woes
I recently removed by EPB and opened it up to wind it back after pulling release cable some time ago. All seem to be well, refitted and took the car for a drive to bed in the new discs and shoes.
On the first bedding in attempt I got a constant scream from the module. Different to the usual "R2D2" noise it makes when its unhooked after emergency release. It now makes the R2D2 noise again so presumably unhooked once more.
My first thought was that the gears have ground themselves off and its time to send it off for a proper repair.
Now I have removed the shoe, I'm not 100% certain the cable was hooked onto the lever correctly. I didnt look properly but it came off very easily
My question is, from the noise i described (a constant few second single tone scream), can someone hazard a guess at whether it is likely it just wasnt connected properly at the drum??
I will retry it asap before I commit to sending it off; I have to replace the bearing in the hub first as some **** didnt press it in properly... Ive not had a good day.
Cheers.
Picture of it after I wound it back. Opinions on whether it looks right?

Did you wind it back the right way
My first attempt lying on my back looking up made me wind it the wrong way this caused all sorts of horrible noises.
Redid it the other way and all was good

I believe so. I followed bodsy and mikeys guides and think it looks about right, all the thread showing etc. I'm now so bloody convinced it just wasnt attached properly at the shoe. I think I'm gonna have to try again before I remove it and send it off.
I had the body off before so removing wasnt an issue. Don't much fancy removing it now with the body on.
