EPB switch

Warning light for EPB came on yesterday after a day or two with it having not engaged intermittently (wife drives it so not sure how accurate her description is !). Called out LR Assist (car is 3 and a half years old and we have LR extended warranty) - fault with EPB switch, although he had it working after unplugging the wiring and re-doing it. Going to dealer today for new switch.

He did tell me that spillages from cups can upset the switch (not in our case) easily (Red Bull is his serial offender) and that the tray under the cup holders (he showed me it) was fitted (post 2012) to try to prevent damage to the wiring loom beneath it from similar spillages.....

Anyway, by the time this switch is sorted the warranty will almost have been paid for after the £700 worth of EPB module a few weeks into the warranty in october......
