Not 100% sure Rob but released one the other day and after reapplying the EPB all was well.
The EPB worked ok and the warning lights went out , it will of probably stored a fault code though

My recollection is vague, but I thought it reset itself with the next normal application of the parking brake.

not sure whether there's something in the water, but a suprising number of 54-06 plated D3's hitting BCA this next week and quite a number of the dealership have stock around on auto trader/ebay for 4-5 months (if you look at the background enviroment on the photos), so not suprised by your comments, perhaps this where prices will start to finally stumble
ps, the majority of BCA' stock on the D3's seem to be from "we buy any car.com" and majority of them are quite low mileage ones (sub 50k miles)

Why not read the handbook? It tells you at the end of the description of how to release the brake that "the parkbrake switch must be applied to reinstate normal function."

I cannot see the EPB seeing an end to high prices mate. 5 year old D3 HSE still worth 55% of its purchase price Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
I would Reply:
"Duratrac"

Oh for a lovely simple manual handbrake! I have a similar issue at the moment. I find that turning off and letting it sleep then turning back on again seems to do the trick. Often only happens on damp mornings but I am getting a little miffed by the EPB.

Car been at dealers for two days, finally tonight they say they have fixed it then they take it out to road test it and the piece of breaks down on them ,, chap said it could be the fuel pump or something simple like a blown fuse,,,, i said "something simple on a Land Rover" ...." i dont think so do you", he just grinned. Im only trying to fix it to get shot of it. VW Touareg 3.0 Altitude
