Epb module replacement not working |
|
Hey
I've just replaced my disco 3 epb module.
I switch on the ignition and it throws heaps of warning lights and sets off the hazards lights?
The warnings are transmission, suspension, epb ect
Anyone know what might be going on? Cheers

You have a problem with high speed canbus, either caused by a faulty new EPB module, wrong variant installed (D3/D4 is different) or damaged the wiring/connector to it. Defender 110 SE 2021, Tasman Blue

Does a new EPB module not need to be paired to the vehicle by means of a scan tool before it will be recognised? Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.

I'm hoping that's the problem? Because when I plug the old unit back in. None of the warning lights come on apart from the epb one.

I'm thinking it might be a faulty new EPB module? If I switch over the plug back to the old one. None of the warning lights come on apart from the EPB.
Guess I'll be pulling it again fun times haha!
Cheers

Make sure the new module is a LR019223 and not a LR072318 which is for D4.
Is the new module a OEM/LR one or an aliexpress version?
In my experience, no coding is needed when changing it, at least I did not and it worked straight away. Defender 110 SE 2021, Tasman Blue

Its one of the ecu's that get checked when ignition is turned on, you need a tool to pair it to the car at least for a start. If you read the codes it should show up a Vin error.

So I ended up getting a icarsoft v3 to help diagnose the issue . Turns out the new module was not communicating properly and throwing a tcm fault code.
I couldn't recode the new module, so I switched out the motherboard with the old unit. Now I can start the car and drive. But the epb warning, yellow and red still show up!
The handbrake also does not apply. Still at a loss on this one?
