EPB / longitudinal acceleration sensor

Help ! I have an intermittent problem with my EPB in mornings it flashes park brake fault and then the yellow brake light stays on, it only does this overnight. So I brought it to private Lr guy and he plugged it in and it is the longitudinal acceleration sensor fault but it will not take intsruction from the computer to calibrate itself ! So got electrician to check out power to epb unit and all is fine now my Lr guy says that I need a new EPB unit !! Bit Censored but park brake works fine and shoes and cables all in good condition ! Has anyone heard of this before ? Plz help bit peeved !!

Hi,

Did you get to the bottom of this, I have the exact same problem, did the sensor need changing?

Thanks.
Alex.

EPB light can be illuminated with none park brake faults . May be worth seeing if anyone local has a IID to check for you.

Got this one :
• C1A40-02 (A8) Longitudinal acceleration sensor - General failure information - general signal failure

And calibration with IID fails. So I was wondering before changing the sensors if it could be electric loom related.

The module will not calibrate if it isn’t not mounted correctly

Finaly got the car back in the shop, and yes the EPB module wasn't fix proparly. it has been changed by previous garage and it wasn't sitting on its bottom bushes.

Thanks a lot!
