Well done to James for addressing the issue The mark of a good dealership is how they deal with things when mistakes occur 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

It is nice to see so many of you standing shoulder to shoulder with me, thank you.
I will be ringing on Monday, thank you also James.
Naturally I will be posting accurate and honest feedback after Wednesday.
Again, thank you all.

Regards,
James
here's an idea for good customer service, why doesn't Paul give Joycelaw a call instead!
Sorry, it's not bash the sponsor time, but really as you've been alerted to the issue, doesn't cost mch to be pro active n resolvng the issue and would be seen in a much mre positive light.......
Our customers don't book their cars in using their forum user names, therfore it would be difficult to be sure who they are. But thank you for the advice.
James
PS. Thanks for the defence Martin!
Errr, I did, well the forum anyway!

Sorry for the delay in the feedback - but wonderful BT broke my broadband....
Anyway, car went in as planned on Wednesday, got a call later that day with the following info.
1. EPB actuator defective - to be replaced under warranty.
2. Front pads 95% worn - recommend changing - agreed to.
3. Rear pad 90% worn - recommended changing -agreed to.
4. Rear discs - lipped and corroded - recommended changing - agreed to.
5. Front brake sensor wire replaced - queried as the brake warning light had not come on therefore sensor must be intact and unworn! Work already completed!
6. EPB shoes - recommended changing to prevent EPB squeal in future. Queried if shoes were worn, answer was "No, but it is recommended and if you don't have them changed we will not honour any further EPB warranty issues." To be honest that was such a load of old tosh I siad no and ignored him from that point. Why replace somnething that is not worn?
7. VHC completed - tyres feathering and 1 windscreen washer jet blocked - recommended tracking done elsewhere! and washer unblocked FOC!
8. 2 days courtesy car costs, Freelander 2 HSE manual - £15 per day.
I bought a couple of other bits which were less than£10.
The grand total was £480.50.
They did wash the car but they binned my Lockets - sore throat still!

I would think that lot would be around £480 at most dealers TBH - let alone one in London I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Agreed that dealers are not the most cost effective option, but if things are being linked to Warranty work it is very difficult to menu pick which items you will use them for when work needs doing and they are in possession of the vehicle I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.
