EPB fault - biggada biggada bong!

Flippin thing.

So i have read through a number of EPB posts can see a few similar issues.

I was parked at a set of traffic lights and set off on green just remembering to flick off the parking brake then bong!!!!! Amber parking brake and the red parking brake flashing..... Feck......

The parking brake wont engage now and every time i come to a stop Bong!!!!

Have I blown The switch?

Feedback suggestions greatly appreciated

So a quick update...took the parking switch out to check it only to find an oily residue all over the bottom of the swicth the green plug and inside the female part of the switch...... Going to clean it all out check the fuses and go from there.... Bloody thing is starting to get me down. 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 2.7 S

Cheers for the reply Pete K.

I have cleaned bothe connector and the switch reconnected. The light indication has changed very slightly from a steady parking brake (red) to a flashing - when pulling key out.

Not sure how to fluke the switch shall order another to test i hope this is all it is.

Everything else on the car works as per....so far

There is just no hand brake

New switch installed....... No change .. Censored ...

Car drives fine... just dont have a hand brake anyone have an idea?
