EPB failure

Hi EPB has locked out for the 2nd time in 4weeks , 1st time garage stripped it down , said it had over extended , wound it back and reset it and all seemed ok , but no .

Does the module now need replacing and what are my options , don’t really want to pay the exorbitant dealer costs .

Any suggestions appreciated

Not wishing to bring doom and gloom, but just spent about £930 at my local independent having a new module and shoes fitted. Interestingly the first new module they fitted was faulty, which isn’t great.
