EPB - Cable tensioning

Recently when applying the park break it sounds like the cable is streatching? Not long ago it had new shoes, drum and discs. Not a screamer but does it just need adjusting before becomming one?

Is it a case of following the 8 clicks routine?

Not done before so some guidance would be appreciated.
