Thanks, we’ll spotted on the picture front Laughing

Is the picture where I need to place the 2p piece?

The red arrow points to where one of my EGR valves have been blanked.

But you need to blank both sides ... this looks like the LHS of the engine; right as you face it.

Guessing if using 2p, you need to release the pipe, insert the 2p in between the pipe and the valve, then refit the pipe over it?

Just curious s my car came already blanked.

A bit of closure to this, I thought I’d try the actuator first as it’s the quicker job. Very pleased I did, it was seized solid!!! Twenty mins with plus gas and a wire coat hanger and all was sorted.

Top tip though, go through the battery tray rather than the wheel arch, much easier to do and see.

So you remove the battery and the battery box side.

Can you see what's going on then?

Yes mate, it’s much easier to see, spray and work it free etc.

At least I found it easier.

Can you reach it by hand from the battery tray?

No but it’s much easier to see what your doing, you still need a hook or similar to pull the actuator back up.

I used a long round file to push it down then a wire coat hanger contorted to pull it back up.

That is worth knowing as I seem to need to do mine every couple of months, so Thanks!

Bodsy recommended using a spray of aluminium grease after it’s been freed to keep it mobile.

Unfortunately I think I took it a little to much to heart and caked the thing, so periodically need to reclaim it.

Oops
