Hi - having never had a car that needed oil inbetween services before - what sort do you recommend to top the disco up if needed.
Sorry for such a noobie question but even my old Freelander2 went a whole year without a top up!
Thanks! 2006 SE - Java Black - Auto

I did an interim oil change recently and used Magnatec 5W-30 A1, you'll need about 6 litres, Halfords were doing a special, £25 for 4 litres and tesco do 2 litres for £16.99.
I got the filter & sump plug from LR for about £13 2016 RR Sport Autobiography

could always ask your friendly parts/service dept at stealers to match the price (might want to keep a few empty bottles to one side as they have drums of the stuff)

Hi pjbnet,
Addressing the source of your problem, how much oil do you need to add between services?
You could have an undiagnosed leak. Finding and fixing that would be a priority for me.
Best Wishes,

Maybe not. My 4.6L D2's user manual clearly stated that a loss of 1 quart of oil per 3,000mi was considered normal. 2006 LR3 SE V8 w/HD Pkg.

It's actually rare for the TDV6 motor to need topping up between services. The Bearded Dragon
