Check the wiki on here and then the VIN to determine if you have a DPF as it was optional fit in 2010. That oil looks dear enough so personally I would put a good C3 spec oil in even if you don't have a DPF. That's what I do.

Got a 2010 3.0 TDV6 - so I assume its a non DFP, and then assume I should be using Castrol C1 5W-30

Cant see anything on Halfrauds, but they have this?

Shocked Shocked Shocked If I don't rember wrong, all D4 2010 3.0 TDV6 produced for EU market ARE EURO5+ and that means that it has the DPF securely

The listed Oil is ACEA C1, it is good! but I don't know this brand, never seen...

I don't think all 3.0l D4's have a DPF. I don't think mine does

I think it was only those in the first year of D4 production that didn't have a DPF, or it was a no cost option. ISTR there is something in the VIN that confirms this. Will have a mooch. Thumbs Up

Here ya go. https://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/VIN_Details

That's C1, so should be good.

Use discount code SAVE33 today at Euro Carparts. Search 5/30 C1 on their website and only 2 oils come up. I've just ordered a litre of Shell C1, eyewateringly expensive but tolerably with 33% discount.

Thanks, I’ll use them next time.
My Landmark hasn’t needed topping up yet, but one day it might so hopefully a litre will suffice for the time being. I bought a few other bits I needed, but even with the 33% discount I could have probably found them cheaper elsewhere. Everything in one free delivery was convenient though.

I think you want:

Ford & Jaguar WSS-M2C 934-B or better if you have a DPF
Ford & Jaguar WSS-M2C 913-B or better if you don't have a DPF

I don't have a DPF, so i use:

http://www.shell.co.uk/motorist/oils-lubri...5w-30.html

Thats also what my local LR dealer use in my car as well Thumbs Up

Actually i think its the D i have:

Sorry to bring this up again but I am trying to sort the correct oil for my 2012 D4, I put my reg into the OPIE oil finder and it tells me the correct oil is Shell Helix ultra 5w-30 AF.

Reading on here it seems the correct oil is Shell Helix ultra 5w-30 AF-L? Anybody know what the difference between the two is?

I also read that the correct grade is C1 but looking at the Shell Helix spec info it says AF-L is C2! this is the info off the Shell spec document:

Description:
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AP-L 5w-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AP-L 5w-30 is designed to meet the demanding requirements of particular high-performance engines, including Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat, and those requiring ACEA C2.
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AP-L 5w-30 is formulated specifically for the use in modern Fiat and Peugeot diesel engines using diesel particulate filter technology.

The spec document for the Shell Helix 5w-30 AF is as follows:

Description:
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF 5w-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF 5w-30 for gasoline and diesel engines is approved against the technically challenging in-house Ford engine oil specification WSS-M2C-913 D.

Designed to meet the demanding requirements of particular high-performance engines, including Ford and those requiring ACEA A5/B5.

The reason for my concern is because I have just ordered AF oil from OPIE and just out of interest put my reg into the Euro Carparts oil finder and it states the correct oil as AF-L.

I never knew it could be so difficult to find the correct oil and reading about some of the serious issues
these engines are prone to want to be sure its the correct oil I put in.

I feel a can of worms being opened up now!

Mate, many beautiful speeches, but the specifications to be respected ABSOLUTELY are:

WITH DPF: ACEA C1 (WSS-M2C 934-B)
WITHOUT DPF: ACEA C2 (WSS-M2C 913-B or WSS-M2C 913-C) or C1 if not available

That determine the correct range of the HTHS and the maximum amount of sulfur that the oil must contain.
