2011 D4 HSE
A couple of weeks ago, I had the EML light on and restricted performance and the codes found were for the MAF B, so swapped them over to ensure it was just that one unit, and ended up changing the one sensor. Cleared codes and all is good.
Couple of days later and restricted performance light again, No EML this time, codes now say the P006a correlation thing.
Live test the MAFs and one reads too high and the other too low, wait a few mins and the engine note changes and both readings go normal until I press the throttle and then we get silly readings again. I've been told on Facebook that this is normal behavior and and that I should do a boost check and also that the air feed switchover valve gets sticky. (Not sure where to look for this)
Did a smoke test and all is OK there too, and the pal who did it suggests the EGR is at fault although there's no codes displayed for such. He reset them and we did a live test drive, car drove lovely.
Now yesterday the car failed to start, after about ten attempts it fired but seemed a little rough, was ok after warming up. Next trip it failed to start altogether and recovery got it going with easystart. He suggested a fuel pump issue but live checking the data says pressure is ok.
My mate still says he thinks the EGR is stuck open and FUBAR'd.
I bow to your collective knowledge and welcome your input on this issue and purchase options and locations on EGR's
Cheers

Weather temp? about 5 degrees, and very wet (Scottish, lol)
Didn't notice FBH, doesn't the car need to be running for that ?
When it was running, I didn't look, was trying to get home, lol

So I picked up and fitted some EGR blanks but before we did the remap the car continued to intermittently start so we ruled out the EGR and removed the blanks.
Smoke tested again, and nothing visible, live readings show fuel pressure ok, MAP sensor cleaned, MAF's all reading OK.
I've got it booked in to a indy but its weeks away, and the more clues I can gather beforehand the better.
Cheers

If you are using IID tool, have you clicked Advanced then pending faults. On my D4 when I had an issue there were no faults showing however after checking on the forum I was advised to go to Advanced then Pending faults and hay presto I found a relevant fault code. Stu
