Well it is the EGR only one of them left side I think, covered under warranty so no charge, being done tommorrow. The other code is what disco_mikey said a fuel filter blockage, but as Iain as changed it at service they say it could have been there before the filter was changed. Iain reckons the one he took off may have been on since it was built as it was an older type, ie no plate to show where which pipe goes where.
But thinking about it, it did take a while to get the fuel up to the engine and might have thought there was a fault and logged it. WE SHALL SEE!

Well!!!!! Egr replaced! Fuel filter changed! A week later..... same fault, loss of power and and same code P2290. Dealer says it COULD be throttle sensor fault!!! They said they have updated the software, as there was a bulletin from landrover saying there MAY be a fault relating to the throttle sensor.
Anyone heard/had of a fault with a throttle sensor?

Were you towing at the time the fault happened?
And maybe a long shot, but did you tap the brake pedal when on the throttle at the same time? That would cause P2290, and there was an engine management download for that fault, but i would presume its already done... My D3 Build Thread

Mike, I wasn't towing, and I don't think I hit the brake pedal when I pressed the accelerator. Its done it 3 times over 3 weeks now. Last time I was on the M6, got stuck in traffic, dropped to 4th and then pulled out, it went for about 5 seconds then it lost power 'engine fault' shown in display and then corrected itself and then went on my way. I can't make it do it at all, I've tried all sorts, slow on pedal, fast pressing, quick on/off pedal and tried it in all gears under different loads/speeds and nowt!
I will press the accelerator and catch the brake at the same time to see if it does it.

Im not sure what code it is, P2290 or P2299
Pressing the brake pedal and throttle at the same time will bring on engine system fault on the dash
Also, for some reason, if you are towing with LED's on a trailer, for some reason this also causes engine system fault to show, albeit, with a different fault code My D3 Build Thread

May be not releent in this case but.
P2290 Injector control pressure too low, Actual pressure is less than commanded for a specified time.
