Hi everone, On a recent trip had another big scare the engine died on me going up the the hill at Penrith (sydney)occurred two more times in 24 hours and has ran perfectly ever since. Engine Failure special systems turned off appeared in the message centre. The bloody thing just shuts down to idle scares the hell of me especially when trying to overtake. Took it back to the dealer for a service could not find any faults.as it was running fine. Their was lost data on the readout or something to those words ,myself not being to mechanically minded . Where do I go from here to try and have this problem resolved. This has happened twice before . Do I write to Landrover or make a noise with the dealer (.The vehicle is covered with an extended warranty.) or seek asecond opinion.Any suggestions .

Not good Kev
Why dont you take to the guys at Graham Cooper at St Peters and get another opinion. I had all my services done there while in Sydney and they have been working on LR for years.

Hi Kev,
Sorry to hear of your problems. Here's a short list of possible causes:
1) blown brake light bulb or brake switch
2) battery condition - battery, terminals or poor connection to body
3) a communications errors to one of the computers
4) high pressure fuel pump.
There are two threads about this on the AULRO site - one for D3 and one for D4. Here's the link:

Thanks for the note Wayne .The car is going great at the moment , the fault hasn't shown up for 6000ks. Rang Landrover customer care , very sympathetic but useless won't let you contact any technical people will only talk to the dealers. Haven't had a spare day to get to St Peters yet ,but that is what Iwill probably do. How is Singapore treating you.
Cheers Kev

Kev good to hear that the D3 is performing well again.
Singapore has been pretty good, dont miss winter, but have not driven a car for 7 months. Cant wait to get over to Darwin in 3 weeks to hop back into the D3.
We will be here for at least another 12 months depending on Jen's job, but at this point she is going really well, might even get up into the top tax bracket of 20%. May have to get her to go another 6 months so I can upgrade to a D4 to keep up with Baggey and Jonesy63.
How is the campertrailer going? We intend to take a year off when we return travel around Oz, but want to do it in comfort so looking at upmarket campertrailer. Take the road less traveled.
