Engine bay electrical plugs- release

Trying to replace the High Pressure Fuel pump and for the life on me cannot see how to release the electrical plug of the top of the pump. Its probably very simple but as this is tenfirst major job on my Discovery 3 I haven't come across electrical connections before...if anyone can advise it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Pete K Apologies I assumed all connectors ij the engine bay would be the same but yoy are right a photos would help. There are 2 on the HHFP obviously don't want to break them by trying the wrong way to disconnect.

Get a thin blade screwdriver

Well on the brown one the locking thing is on the left.
Probably leaver it outwards and then see if it will pull apart.

Black one looks more tricky. Just have to have a go at it with said screwdriver.

The black "finger" pointing up on the right is the holder so you might find pulling up on the whole plug/socket assembly will release it to get a better view.

The shoulder on the left just below the top of the socket is the beginning of the clip retaining the plug, squeezing just below that point but not on the next much bigger step down should release the clip but pushing it in 1st before pulling might help.

With age these retainers don't move far enough to release the plug so, as suggested a small screwdriver slid down the clip and under that second step then push inwards GENTLY to release the retainer clip.

If you do it carefully you can avoid mullering the clip so it still works, it is very easy to break the retainer.
A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
