Si, the D3 went very well and no moped scars, just the Nun on the mobile. Rome as usual was manic, but I love the place.
Re the seat, I think the solution is to burn the originals . Seriously what I plan to do is get a specialist to pad out the front edge to give a bit more leg and knee support. The other answer for me anyway, is to make a couple of metal strips that fit at the front of the seat frame about 1 cm longer than the orginals. This will give the support that is missing, but then we get into warranty problems. I have tried dropping the seat, but for vision off road it is too low. I think thats why I scratched the car up the mountain.
What did you think of the police car that Martin posted for me ?
By the way the boat is a 1953 model and was the prototype for the 2 on the Royal Yacht Britannia for the Queens Coronation and is now fully restored to original. Not an elctronic bit on it
I am off to Gibraltar tomorrow for a bit of moped madness . Not taking the D3 as planned as I need to get back for Friday and cannot get there and back in time, plus do the work out there. Speak to you all on my return.
I'd hate to get arrested and put in the back of the Smart . apparently the Police use them around Paris too though I've never seen one over there.
Boat looks great, looks like you've put a lot of work into the restoration, how bad was it before you started?
I haven't taken a close look at the seat mountings yet but I wonder if it's possible to raise the front up to so it levels out when it's raised rather than having the back higher than the front? I'm tempted to complain to my dealer and say the height adjustment doesn't work properly and only raises the back, wonder what reaction I'd get

Si, my dealer has also suffered with his demo D3 'S' seat and is aware. He has tried to get action, but failed. The small brackets under the front would work, but the warranty may suffer. I think the padding at the front of the seat squab may work but not as well.
The boat is completely rebuilt. It is made from alloy and rivitted with aircraft rivits 3500 of them. Powered by a Ford 100e. No neautral, no reverse and great fun. Does about 28MPH. Speak to you all next week.

Nice to know that one of you guys was down here with his D3 (actually I live in the mountains around Frosinone!).
I hope BN enjoyed some of our off-road tracks (are your D3 peraphs a white one?). I am a little surprised to know that cruise control would affect negatively fuel consumption, since I was thinking costant speed meaned better mileage.
Finally, I was wandering if the famous pre-heater is a standard feature for all markets, or it is restricted to cold climate areas only.
Assembly date of mine is june 28 (not a monday!), and should be delivered by mid july 8) . I'm sure it will be worth the 150 days wait!

The Electronic hand brake on the Disco 3 has a common fault. All Land Rover off road centres (Land Rover Experiance) have actually deactivated this brake other wise with the collection and build up of mud on the linings the brake has to be stripped down and cleaned every 50 miles (Off roading only) I am not sure where land rover are at with a fix?? However I know they are aware. Drove the Range Rover Sport yesterday. Clever marketing from Land Rover. Same chassis as the Disco 3 Minor alterations inside with a new shell. Will never make a Range Rover. Own a 05 model TD6 Vogue and Disco TDV6 HSE.

Not strictly true.
I drove a v8 HSE at Eastner last week and the park brake was connected.
It made a horrid noise due to mud collection untill we did some wading and then it worked normally.

Hello guys, I'm back again .
Vito I was in Colleberadi where I own some land and a 'bosco'. The D3 performed very well, but because it was nice and dry, I only off roaded on grass hills and dirt roads. Not too much of a trial. Next time I go to Collebaradi I will let you know.
Been to Gibraltar until today and have done a deal with a dealer in Gib I know and purchased a brand new unregistered HSE V6 for £10,000 less than one I could get in UK including shipping to the UK and taxes . Mine is a left hand drive. Right hand drive will be about £2000 more, still a saving of around £8000. Anyone interested as I can get as many as you want 8) ?
Brian, wish you'd told me that a few months ago, I could have ordered a vehicle with a comfortable seat for almost the same as I paid for the uncomfortable one I've got

Si, I wish I had realised also, but as he is a main Toyota dealer, I had forgotten he also deals in LR, Subaru, Mitsubishi plus others including a few MG's and Rovers that are left over . They is also covered by the usual LR 3 year warranty etc as it is an UK state .
