Electronic Park Brake - D4 HSE - 8 speed auto |
|
On Friday I parked on a hill and the epb jammed on - I free a bit of messing with it I thought I had released it but the dash was telling me there was a fault and making a pinging sound. I drove home - about a mile and when I got home the rear wheeels were quite warm.
I decided to override the epb with the manual cable pull in the centre console.
I stripped the brakes to find that one side had clearly been in a sad state for some time with the shoes just bare metal and clips missing and mangled.
I have replaced the discs, shoes and pads but now when I switch on I am getting the message - park brake off lift switch to apply - with the small red triangle and exclamation mark along with the red brake light flashing on the dash. If I pull the switch I get an intermittent (not continual) screeching sound then the amber brake warning light comes on.
If I press the switch down I get an amber warning ⚠️ and a large warning ⚠️ (not amber) in the centre - with the message ‘park brake fault’
Has anyone experienced this? I was hoping it would resolve once I had replaced everything.
Thanks in anticipation! Porsche 968 Cabrio

I was worried you were going to say that - I have seen your post about unjamming it but it looks difficult to get to in the pictures Porsche 968 Cabrio
