Electrical problems in loww temperatures

I was driving in - 19/20 C when the car suddenly stopped, and I had to restart it again. Sad It worked so fine, for suddenly to repeat the problem 3-4 times. Then everything was fine again. Eaven at lower temperatures, was down to - 26 at the coldest. Have driven approx 600k after this incident, and everything seems fine. A friend of mine who also drives a TDV6 has experienced the same problem at the same conditions. His baby also worked fine after restarting and has had no such problems in "normal" temperatures.
Anyone else had similar problems? Question Isnt the Landy made for cold weather? Embarassed I am now installing dual battery system, as I also had startproblems in cold conditions.

Maybe a fuel problem? I'm not sure what the waxing point of the deisel you get there is. I suppose it should be low enough to cope. Maybe you have a bit of water in the filter that froze?

The diesel isnt the problem, its "winterdiesel". It seemed more like an electrical problem, as if I had too little current. Got a whole lot of faultwarnings, and they are all gone now. I have also had lots of faultwarnings when I start up in the cold, and only then. It seems to me that adding a battery would be good for the car. But maybe its all superstition as I cant explain really why....

Just checked my charging voltage, 15,5V. Should be plenty?

Had the exact same behavior a couple of years ago. Got a softwareupdate for the engine, and never had the problem again.

I also have the same problem from time to time when starting the D3 in extremely cold weather. The cure is to charge the battery more frequent when it is below -15 degrees...I guess it is caused by to low voltage on the battery when the car is started in these cold conditions.
