I got home tonight to finish my BAS EGR Blank kit. I soaked the EGR bolts a few days ago, and continued to soak them. They actually came out really easy, heard the slight crack as they let go and slowly they came out. The bolts were really rusty and no way are going back in, so awaiting Nicks package.
I only got as far as immobilising the D3  , all for bolts off and pipes are hanging free. Daylight and weather hinders further progress, but it was one of the jobs I did'nt think I could do, but its relatively easy following Petes how to...

 Finally able to do the EGR blanking today. I followed the instructions on the BAS website and found them to be spot on. Took me two hours to do and found it quite easy. The only problem was a dropped bolt but retrieved it with a bit if copper pipe with blue tack on the end. I have just taken it on a test run and it is as good as new, got all the power back.
There is no need to soak the bolts as the corrosion is above the threads and below the head where the bolts go through the base of the pipes. I brushed mine put some copper grease on to stop them corroding further and put them back in. I have photographs but to be fair the ones on BAS are good enough. You cannot believe the s@£t that was in the small pipes at the top this stuff is being fed back into the engine and can not do it any good surely?.
Anyhow, I would recommend the BAS kit and the diy instructions to anyone who has ever tinkered with cars .
