Not sure if this has been asked before, but has anyone disconnected the EGR valve in their Disco 3?
I've been told that the performance of the vehicle improves?
Can anyone confirm this please or advise if it is safe to remove or disconnect the valve or blank it off using a blanking off kit.
Many thanks

No info about d3 but I removed EGR from my d2 which enabled it to tow a 1800kg caravan up steep hill in a higher gear than with EGR fitted, I had not told the boss but she commeted how much better the car towed the van, I then told her what I had done. She was happy to let me service the car, But don't mess with it.

In a nutshell if your egr valves are working okay blanking them will make zero difference, the problem comes when they go wrong the car gets very sulky, so people blank them to prevent future problems.
As a rough rule people who say they blanked them and their car went better is purely down to fact their egr valves were faulty and they had not realised.

Thank you so much for your info and advice.
I've had her since new (07 plate) and have only done 28,000 miles in her so according to the Landrover garage, she isn't even 'run in' yet.
Shes running well right now and Im loathe to 'fiddle' about with her if shes running ok. I've just had a few warning messages from her 'HDC warning system not working' & 'special programs off' so after having them cleared a few times I ended up having a new battery fitted and all seems well right now.
Thank you again. This is something that maybe I can think about in the future. XX If your ship doesnt come in, swim out to get it!!
