EGR Fault Code - PO401
Recieved my Faultmate FCR yesterday from Blackbox Solutions a fantastic piece of kit
Trouble is.. I had my Disco in with my dealer week before last for a few problems, I identified to them that the car seemed extremely sluggish and it had trouble taking off from junctions etc which has lead to some brown pants moments.. from the info on here I asked them to check the EGR Valves, they came back and said everything was fine and put it down to the cold weather
However my FCR has come up with the PO401 fault code - EGR Insufficient Flow
Does this mean that indeed one of my EGR valves is and the dealer just fobbed me off.. Got one week left on my warranty so want to get this sorted soon.
that is the exact same code I had when my EGR's were replaced.
And the dealer showed me the code and said "Yep..(or Oui in my case) - c'est les EGR's..."The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

Bit of an update, One dealer denied that the fault code PO401 ever existed and asked how I obtained such information without the help of a LR Dealer Second dealer was extremely helpful and recognised the code instantly, said it's a common problem and have booked my car in for Monday to identify if it's the Left or Right EGR Valve or indeed both

I'd turn that question back on them... As in - why did it require you to find and identify the fault that an LR dealer couldn't...

If under warranty, try and get them to replace both anyway. My dealer did. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Another Update: Just had a call from the stealer to say again that they cannot find any fault code stored which would connect to the EGR Valves despite me giving them the code I found
So unfortunatly they will not change one or both the EGR Valves, looks like I'll invest in a set of blanking plates and save any hassle of them going wrong in the future

If I may hijack slightly - I've got a P045D today - "Exhaust Gas Recirculation "B" Control Circuit High" - is this a transient error, or should I arrange a visit to the dealer asap?
