Well it passed!

Went with Kwik-Fit.

Also, interestingly/luckily, I didn't need to get my ECU updated to deal with the engine warning light coming on. I recently found that if you use a tool to clear error codes, the engine warning light doesn't come on straight away for the blanked EGRs, it takes a few drives. I chanced it for the MOT by clearing the warning light just before getting there, and was successful. When I turned the car on to drive away, the light came back on! Thumbs Up

I see that this post from me is now late but for what it's worth...I also had the same concern but chose to chance it. I've had 2 MOT's pass at 2 separate garages and neither of them mentioned anything about the missing pipes.

Glad you've got passed it now though Thumbs Up

When the ECU opens the EGRs it also closes the butterfly to reduce airflow through the filter and increase the effectiveness of the recirculation.

When the EGRs are blanked there is no flow so without removing the butterfly the engine is starved of gas.

Early models just need the butterfly removed, later ones need the ECU updated.
A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
