| EGR blank and patch S West |
|
Does anyone know if there is a Bodsy or Flack type down here who will carry out an EGR blank and patch on a euro 4 2007 Disco 3? I live in West Cornwall but would be willing to travel. I've given up working on my Disco due to old age and arthritis!

EGR blank kit is simple DIY
If you have an IID then Bell Auto Services can map out eml via internet connection iirc Visitor from fullfatrr.com

My local indy has already diagnosed a faulty EGR which is giving the yellow engine warning light. Due to the fact that my D3 is already on it's third set of EGRs and now the current one's are playing up, I've decided to blank them. However, I don't have an IID tool and also not that inclined to work on the Disco anymore.
Steve Toyer LR states that they don't do Euro 4 blanking!

I took the same path and after one too many replacement EGR's, got Bodsy to come out and blank and ECU patch for me - very pleased!
Have you asked him if he's planning on coming around your way anytime? I'm in Wiltshire and just waited until he had a few jobs around and came over - worth asking

Geoff - I bet if you bought the blanking kit there is someone on here that would come over and do it for you. Flack is also not too far away (Somerset) - he might be able to pop down one day and do it for you and he has an IID I believe. Drop him a note.
Also, Bell Auto Services have regional reps (Bodsy etc) so is there one local to you? Give Pete Bell a call on 0113 3280285 or 0845 1082815 and chat it over.

I probably drove past your house earlier on the way back from Goldsithney 
How about https://www.mickmoores.co.uk near Newquay, popper long term land-rover nutcase! (in a good way). The "pit stop cafe" on the same site is well worth a visit too if you like epic fry ups, so ideal place to wait.
Also If you decide to get a replacement then try Glassons in Camborne, they look after mine and did EGRs recently and know their way around Discos. Not sure if they will blank it for you though. Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2

I got Mick Moore to megaflush my gearbox a little while ago, he also did the metal sump conversion. I also had a breakfast at the cafe while I waited. Expensive trip, but the brekky eased the pain a little.
Hope you enjoyed your trip along our little lane. Believe it or not but we've had 40 ton artics along here going to the large farm opposite.
Been in touch with BAS re IID and EGR patch. Still deliberating, but will probably fork out and benefit from future diagnostics. Just got to put the pennies together!! 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Alive Tuning. Had it for about 6/7 years. It improved the flat spot when leaving roundabouts etc. a reasonable improvement with acceleration. I was able to keep up with an My16 Disco 4. Disco 4 is 255/300 BHP, Disco 3 with Alive Tuning is around 220. Fuel consumption is mainly down to right foot but overall generally an improvement of apprx. 2 MPG.
Was it worth it? Well yes, the old girl seems to drive more smoothly than before. It's more a case of a number of small improvements which give an overall better driving experience.
It won't accelerate like a supercar!! But there is a definite extra kick when pressed. I'm satisfied with the remap. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE
