EGR -"B" side ?
One of the guys from here helped me out a week or two ago to find the engine light fault code P045d and P045C
I knew that they were definately EGR related but wondered if it would tell me which side . The codes actually just mention "B" control circuit. As in "Exhaust Gas Recirculation "B" Control Circuit High" and the other is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation "B" Control Circuit Low" so Im assuming the egr cannot either open or close now but does anyone know whichh side B is or is there an easy way to determine the faulty one?
Many thanks
Al

Mine had a control circuit low fault on 'A', and the R/H (drivers side) EGR valve was changed under warranty 3 yrs ago (06 MY). So I would deduce from that, that 'B' would be the L/H side. Brilliant aren't I?

when u have the old one out open it and check for any coolant presence
make sure the cooler is not leaking couse u wreck the new valve
unless u r fitting new cooler anyway
best of luck with the change

well ive just done one to day and after lots of research i may be able to clarify my landrover tdv6 2007 model had EGR valve low circuit B fault although engine light on vehicle driving ok.
I have since found out that disconnect the n/s comes up as fault A and the o/s disconnectd comes up as fault C so much help there.
But i was also told that A faults are always o/s and any other B, C are n/s
there is also another way of checking these which is to warm upto engine temp then switch ignition off and hold both EGR Valves and listen for clicking as they self clean whichever one does not click is the faulty EGR
One point to note as per this thread is you cannot block off EGR on this model hope all my stress today not including removing the dreaded thing 3rhs later and lots of cuts and scratches helps anyone else in the same situation as me today
cheers rob
