i have recently become aware of a whisteling that goes up in pitch with the engine revs, its not the turbo and it stops after a few minutes.
Could this be a fault with the viscous coupling or something else?
Thanks

Thought you were going to say:
And on back order!!!
Good to see you Monday Nick, if anyone needs a printer unblocked, whist entering part numbers for a BT module and rewriting the code for the Space Shuttle launch protocols, Nick's ya man!!
thanks. Why would it stop after first few minutes? surely air is being sucked through all the time?
Sorry if that is a stupid question.

hi
is yours a whistling noise as opposed to a kind of squeaking - mine chirps like a budgie and then slows down after a few mins and then gone. would intercooler make different noises?

If you mean the intercooler hose, the answer is "YES". The Bearded Dragon
Hmmmm. Somewhere between a whstling and a whine. Need to get someone to rev the engine for me while cold.
Also, would it be immediate when you put your foot down. As there is turbo lag, would it start sucking air in through the intercooler before the turbo lag had finished?
Is the intercooler hose the big plastic one on top of the engine?
I also suspect an alternator problem as i keep getting "low power mode".
Also, I don's seem to get the viscous coupling / fan roar when cold either.

Does anyone make replacement silicone hoses for the D3 like there are for Defenders? They're supposed to be much more resistant to splitting.

BAS ISTR. Site Sponsor so link at top of home screen.
Got someone to rev the enginge and it is definately a whine, mechanical in nature.
After revving whilst stationary, there is a strong smell of deisel in the cab.
Any ideas?
