ECU UPGRADE KNOCKS OUT DVD SOUND SYSTEM |
|
I have had the car chipped and it knocked the sound system for the dvd player. My dealer says its a soft ware problem. I like the new power and torque and fuel ecom, but my 2 year old would rather have sound when watching Thomas the tank. The sound does work through the wireless head phones. Can any one help.

Not a hard ware problem when Lr rebooted the system sound worked, but engine was no longer chipped. When the engined was remapped (chipped)sound stopped working.?????

I know what you are saying, but LR do indeed carry out re-maps - Enhancement Programme...
Not sure about the DVD thing.

Not sure about the DVD thing. The enhncement programme is not a remap, it is the application of several 'patches' to address specific sensor calibration issues, the engine mapping envelope remains the same

Its not something silly like the little plastic plug not seated right in the socket at the back of the fridge/centre box. ( the one for ipods etc)I lost all my sound through the car when my little darlings pulled it out to see what it did ! Pot Noodle Challenge Winner 2011

Thanks for that, I have tried that if you enable the wireless head phones the sound works. Its when you try to use the dvd sound through the aux channel. I have been in touch with my LR dealer and they are now aware of the problem and the company that do the superchip program are working on a patch for the system.

I has same problem on car 4 weeks ago.....loss of satnav, dvd and radio. Simply disconnect the battery for 20mins and this will allow a complete reboot and will restore the dvd functions :-0)

So just to get this straight - you had the car chipped(increase in boost) by superchips. Subsequently your sound system developed a fault. When the system is reset to standard mapping the sound works....?
I accept that the two areas are separate but if you have the sandard fuel/boost map then you don't have a problem.
Where is the fault that is LR responsibility?
I'd be interested in the answer you received from Superchips? did they refund you? Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Hi
Car still at dealer, from what I have been told the disco 3 has 37 ecu's when superchip upgrade is installed in the engine ecu it is effecting the ecu for the dvd sound aux channel. I phoned them today and they still cannot sort it, if they can't they will give me a full refund. I will ask super chip if they can let me have a more detailed report and Iwill it pass on to you.

We at turbochip have never had this problem with any LR product. I can only suggest that you go back to the superchip dealer who did this job.
very odd!!
