It looks like a bargain and the installation seems pretty straight forward.
Anyone tried it or have other thoughts?
Best regards

Perhaps I misinterpret the workshop manual which clearly states (page 214) that the auto box is filled for LIFE. This implies that it nevers needs to be changed though I can see why, under arduous conditions it could need new fluid but I suspect this means really arduous and high temperatures

Just updating the post with a really nice video about the Conversion Kit
Copied from the site:
Transmission (Automatic) Filter Conversion Kit for LR3, LR4, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Full Size
Here is the step-by-step process in the removal and installation of the transmission filter conversion kit on a 2005-2009 LR3. Using kit # ATFCK, this is an easy change filter conversion kit for all Rovers using ZF 6HP Automatic Transmission.
This includes the LR3, LR4, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover L322 models. Installing the original factory filter change kit is a very lengthy process.
The original sump and filter are normally one piece and fitting involves jacking the engine up and unbolting the mounts, plus, the removal of the exhaust.
This new kit has a two-part filter and pan design, which makes installation much easier. Doug will also address replacement of the Automatic Transmission Valve Body Sleeve part number TZV500010G which has a tendency to leak.
It is recommended that this sleeve be replaced while you have the pan down. This service is recommended to be performed every 50,000 to 70,000 miles to ensure optimum performance.
Applies To These Models:
LR3 / Discovery 3 | '05-'09
LR4 / Discovery 4 V8 5.0 Liter | '10-'13
Range Rover Full Size 4.4 (Jag Engine) | '06-'09
Range Rover Full Size 4.2 Supercharged (Jag Engine) | '06-'09
Range Rover Full Size | '10-'12
Range Rover Full Size Supercharged | '10-'12
Range Rover Sport | '06-'09
Range Rover Sport Supercharged | '06-'09
Range Rover Sport | '10-'13
Range Rover Sport Supercharged | '10-'13

Yes but its not our life rather the life of the gearbox which is a shorter life if you dont change the oil

We all agree that LR say, filled for life, but experience indicates that the "Life" is very short if the oil is not changed as per ZF recommendation or even earlier.

Sceh,
ZF OFFICIAL document "speak" clearly!!!! What else do you need?Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
Which do you trust more to be correct, the Technical Manual from a German Engineer who designed the gearbox, or dear old Gerry and his co-horts at LR who bolt together big boys Mekano sets? The later being more intrested in selling you a new one every x years?
I know my answer, but then I may be a little biased LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
