Hi All
I have a 55 plate with 30000 miles. It's due a belt change under the 7 year rule in Sept 2012. I was thinking whether to have it done later this year as opposed to Sept 12. Am I worrying about nothing. I appreciate the mileage point of view but does the belts actually deteriorate with age.

Well mines 12 months away but on 94k.
Im going to get mine done after the summer I think. 6 months or so before the 7 yeas are up.
Just to be on the safe side.
Im sure LR built in some safety gap too.
Hope that helps.

Thinking the same for mine, probably have it done when the car is 6 years old/65000 miles. The Haynes workshop manuals always recommend bringing forward the change date, and various articles in the magazines. Blinking expensive though......

Just done another set this week, and just happened to notice the condition of the belts after 110k, on an 06 plate...
Front belt was in perfect condition, no cracks or splitting etc. Definately wouldnt have given it 110k miles anyway.
Rear belt wasnt in as great condition, but still didnt look that bad, considering the mileage. There still want any cracks in the belt on either side though
Think you are worrying over nothing TBH. Wouldnt advise going over the 105k/7 years however...
Can have a look here and see whats involved however: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic53674.html My D3 Build Thread
