DVD Level 1 Driving

The DVD I spoke about will be available from http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/Adventures/...erview.htm

by mid July. It is called The Essential Guide To Off-Road Driving. Level 1

I am told it is going to be about £15 to £19 so you will be able to order it yourselves now.

Yes, it is basic, but sound advice. It gives a lot of detail on the D3 mainly, then the RR, 110 and Freelander driving techniques, including settings of gears, range and other bits. The gears and range are shown in the bottom right hand corner in both auto and manual relevant to the vehicle shown, quite clever. It offers help on lots of essentials and for around the £15 to £20 is not bad. Chris who is the lucky guy driving in the film is an excellent LR man, plus it took him all over the world to make the DVD.

I have suggested that they place the gears in opposite corners of the screen as apposed to changing per vehicle as they do, but maybe to late for the first issue.

There is a possibility it will be available at Billing, I will try to check on that in the LR Gear Marque (tent).

Of course you will make it. How could you miss the gathering of the century. 8)

Idea On another point I am speaking to a company next Monday about some off roading. Anyone seriously interested Question

This will be from mild to extreme. The guys do the same as my company, but have a base here. It may be possible to bring your own vehicles and learn what they can do with just a bit of mud, no damage in a convoy situation.

I have in the past also run trips abroad, this could be done again next year if the interest is there.

Are you doing the Level 1 in a D3 or Defender 110?

Simon,

If you get a chance grab some photos of the more extreme positions the DISCO3 can get into... mind you, more than likely you'll be having too much fun to do this Smile

Enjoy,

The problem you will have doing your level 1 is that you will not have time to take pictures normally. You lose the day otherwise. Believe me the angles the D3 can achieve are nearly as good as the Defender. The amazing thing is the HDC in nuetral, that is something to enjoy, especailly if they take you to one particular point.

What you will also find is the odd growl from the front which we all hear, I am sure it is the power steering pump moaning.

We can achieve a lot more of the 'fear factor' on the site I am negoiating with on Monday. I will be taking a Defender round to see just how bad it is. It so happens the other site the guy owns is one of LR's Experience tracks.

I'll take my camera, whether I get a chance to use it or not is another matter.
Of course if I spot any Sheep on the way round I'll make sure we stop so I can get a decent photo Wink

That won't work...

You'll never have time to change the plates and the magnesium flash powder might get wet... Very Happy

Cheers,
