DVD IN HEADRESTS

My freelander dvd headrests arrived today. I had a look at the rear of the centre console and it has a blank plate under the cover with an aux input on the right hand side.
The AV input with the kit looks as though the fascia panel to the inputs is moulded rather than being detachable. The input sockets look as though they are detachable.
Do it fit the av input from the kit or do i need to buy one for a D4 which will presumably come with the correct fascia panel? I could drill holes in the existing one but it it wouldn't look too good. I appreciate it has a cover over it but to me it will always be not quite how it should be.
Having seen the screens in situ in the FR headrests, I dont want to attempt the fitting in the D4 rests until I have a spare set. I have put a wanted ad in the forum after not having any luck elsewhere
I'm in 2 minds at the moment; if i don't have any luck getting the spare headrests, can anyone recommend an installer in London/ south-east. I don't mind traveling a reasonable distance.
The AV input obviously has sound going in, can the sound be played over the car speakers or is it sent wirelessly to headphones that came with it?

The av module in your pic is screwed onto the FL2 trim by 2 screws (or is it 4) ... remove the screws & the av module comes away from trim.
Pull the av module out from d4..towards rear seats.. gently out from bottom upward.
You will see a similar module (aux socket only ) at back of trim....again remove screws (2or4) & you will see
6 marks on back of trim that need to be drilled out with a 10mm drill...
Once drilled out ... screw FL2 module onto rear of D4 trim....simples
You just dont have the lettering !
You can either feed audio in through red & white av plugs & sound will come through headsets of feed it into Aux socket via a 3.5mm adapter & play it though car stereo... Cheers Ian

As above very very simple. As for headrests and cable down seat, cable is very easy to feed down seat back, hardest part is resecuring trim at bottom of seat, nit so much hard as fiddly. Cutting headrest is not that bad take leather off first and slowly remove small amounts of foam trying back plate as you go. Removed one unit. Cable didn't want to come out but a bit of masking tape stopped the edge of the connector snagging. Now I have seen the retaining clips etc the next one will be less fumbling around.
The unnerving part will be putting the knife to the d4 headrest!

Take the leather off the headrest, cut foam away and fit back box then refit leather and cur. Am away till tomorrow but will pm you my number.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
