Dunlop compressor…need programming ?
So I started refurbing my original Hitachi unit and decided it’s beyond repair due to the number of siezed and snapping bolts etc. looking at replacing with a Dunlop unit, some sites reckon I need to reprogram to fit one ? Anyone fitted a Dunlop and had to reprogram as I understood they were a straight swap. I know the much pricier AMK needs it

Hi
I swapped my hitachi with a Dunlop and all I done was swap the relay over that came with the new Dunlop , didn’t have to update the software
However would be extremely beneficial to have ur own diagnostics as I can’t remember when the D4’s had the AMK compressors as standard , so u could then ensure 100% it has the correct software
U can buy something basic like an Autel AP200 , this link explains it in a lot more detail

Cheers for that, is the relay in the fuse box by the battery or somewhere else ? Thanks for that link, I’ve got an Icarsoft diagnostic already but as far as I know it just reads and clears faults etc, not sure if it will reprogram stuff etc. it sounds like I should be okay though 👍
