I stuck a GPS antenna in the high level stop light (HLSL) when I had to replace it after backing into a beam.
It is a better spot for it as it isn't interfered with when you put roof racks on. But unless you remove the HLSL you cannot fit it and you cannot remove the HLSL without destroying it. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Its not a GPS aerial, its the integrated mobile phone aerial. MY08.5 onwards (I think) have bluetooth only, no cradle, so they have to use the phones own antennae hence no point/need for the roof aerial. Cheers

You had stated that the GPS is actually in the High level Brake light, and i was merely asking what the point of having the gps antenna on the roof as well ie why have 2?
As the thread has unfolded it has become clear that the GPS antenna on the roof (as the ebay listing states that is what it is) is actual a dummy antenna for the intregated phone kit!
Hope all is now slightly clearer than mud for you now! '56 Disco 3 SE - Tonga Green

Nearly...when you have the cradle and dock the phone it is the actual, real antennae, nothing dummy about it... Cheers

So you're clear now that there isn't a GPS antenna in the roof 'bump' and understand that it's a GSM antenna, now go back and read my original response
Stu, I know, hence the 'Normally'
Looked at doing the same to mine but the metal roof version isn't as wide as the glass roof version and I'm not convinced it'll fit.... ...que TFC to say it will? The End
