Hi,
I need to drop the fuel tank on my D4 to check the wiring on the sender and its connectors. I crawled under there yesterday and slackened all the bolts I could see but it wasn't going to budge ( I have a jack/supports it in place to lower it down when it does).
I can't get onto TopIX - my account isn't working - can someone please tell me the locations of all the fixings so I can drop it? cheers,

dgardel Helpfully posted these in my thread recently when I was resolving a major fuel leak.
I had dropped the tank by about two inches before I concluded it was the fuel filter (which it isn't necessary to drop the tank to see or reach) so I replaced it without dropping it fully.
Note that as well as the six 'big' bolts holding the cradle onto the chassis, there are several smaller boths and head shields accessed from the passenger side to also be removed.

Hi James,
Many thanks for the link - I'd searched but not found that one.
I managed to drop the tank this morning but was unable to disconnect the pipes/connectors as the space is limited (I'm working on my drive with a couple of trolley jacks for support), so its off the local LR Independent as soon as it can be fitted in.
I hate it when I cant fix things myself but sometimes you just have to leave it cheers,

We only dropped mine two inches but I can see how it would soon get complicated, and everything's easier on a lift, isn't it.

So the tank will drop??
I didn't think the tank would of been able to drop down, was fearing it would be a body off job?!
Just worried, as I might have a knackered in tank pump...
