Drivers seat
Anyone replaced the base/mechanism on a fully electric drivers seat (2011 Disco 4).
If so how much grief was it?
Thanks

Is it faulty or just feel 'loose'. If it is 'loose' there is a fix for it, I did it myself last weekend. It took fifteen minutes and has made driving so much better, that slip of quarter an inch used to drive me mad every time I stopped or pulled away.
If it is faulty, then sorry, I can't help you

It's an annoying creak when going round corners.
It's actually on my RRS, but the seat bases are the same.2011 Discovery 4 Commercial SDV6 (Gone)

You could take the cushion off and see if there’s anything obvious and then clean/lube and tighten. Mine (RRS) doesn’t creek continuously but I occasionally get one as something settles (usually after I’m moved the seat when the wife’s driven it).012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Yes, I've just found a thread that details how the squab comes off, so intend to take a look to see what's going on down there.2011 Discovery 4 Commercial SDV6 (Gone)

Hi, did you get any joy with this?
I’d be interested in any improvements you managed to make.
I’ve eliminated the seat belt catch, tried to lube the pivot mech and checked all the retaining bolts but still have a minor creak on rh turns ☹️
Cheers

There was a service instruction on this, I think you need to re- align the runners to remove the slack.

I removed my passenger seat base (to be read as the cushion base - not the whole seat base) due to creaking noises, and the steel pan was cracked in 2 places around the fixings. I'm lucky enough to have a welder so welded up and no more creaks.
Its literally a max 15 minute job to remove the seat base - Adjust the seat as high as possible & there are torx fixings visible from underneath.
Get if off and have a look for cracks.
Once off it's very easy to adjust the slack on the forward/back mechanism too (should be the way in the guide).

Haven't got round to it yet, the weather hasn't been to kind and under cover working is not available at the mo.
I will eventually though.2011 Discovery 4 Commercial SDV6 (Gone)

Never thought I'd say it, but here's hoping it is cracked and needs welding.
Thanks for all the advice.

Update.
Couldn't get seat base off, torx screws rounded.
Realised seat lowered on transmission tunnel side more than the other, and the 2 pivoted arms were the cause of the squeak.
There is a large hole in the seat frame at the rear, by the pivot. I simply put a bolt in the hole so the seat rests on it. Problem solved.
I was lucky the M8 bolt gave the right height for me though.

I can’t find the fix you mentioned for curing this seat issue, would you be a gent and kindly share the detail? Thanks!
