DRIVERS DOOR LOCK (2005)DISCO 3

When locking the vehicle with the remote all doors are locking except for the drivers door.Had it back to the dealers, they fitted a new latch but it is still not locking. Going back to the dealers again next week, just wondered if anybody else had encountered the same problem

I have the opposite problem, the drivers door will not unlock but all the others do. I could make it unlock by getting in through the passenger door, re-locking the car, pulling the drivers inner door latch to try to open it and then press the unlock button, hey presto it unlocks. The same thing could sometimes be achieved by locking the car again, and pulling the outer door handle and then letting it flick back a few times, i guess it shocked it into working but this wasn't as successful.
I reported it at the service but they could find no fault. From the day of the service it has only done it once and we have put the cure down to a lubricated locking mechanism that is done during the service.
This may be of no help whatsoever and is probably unrelated but here's hoping!

I know I'm a bit late on this, but new member, new owner! So just in case anyones still reading this thread...

I was searching for this problem on here, as mine is doing the same. I discovered that when inside the car and you hit the dash lock button, the drivers lock on the door was a bit lazy going in. You could manually push it further which did then lock the door. So would seem to be a slack / jamming cable.

From outside, if you hit the lock button a few times, the lock crept in and eventually locked the door. I know this will disable the tilt / interior space alarm, but it will lock the car. Oh and the car blows it's horn at you the next time you un-lock and lock again, unless you've turned the ignition on in-between.

Mines in the dealers at the moment having it sorted, hopefully.

Great site, very helpfull.
