Drivers Door Arm Rest Padding
Hi All,
Am I the only person suffering from the lack of padding on the Drivers Door Arm Rest?
I prefer the 'twenty to four' position whilst holding the steering wheel and rest my elbows on the arm rests, the left one is fine and well padded but the drivers door one is sooooo hard, has anyone found a practical and 'tasteful' solution or is there a retro fit?
I'm sure I didn't have this problem with my previous P38....... Mind you, it had plenty of other problems to keep my mind occupied!!

Totally agree. It's my only issue with the car. Love everything else.
When I had a FL2 on courtesy - noticed that they had a much softer rest.
If I'm wearing a jumper - I just roll up the sleeve, otherwise I just grin and bear it. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

I second this..............It is just a bit too thin (not wide enough) and suffers from a lack of paddingPicked up my new MY08 Stornaway TDV6 SE late Feb. FULLY STOKED! Thanks in advance for all the advice/tips you guys have shared on here!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did the padding on the cubby box cover and looks great, I think it's possible to do the arm rest also.

That looks great - nice one - like it. I was actually thinking about the one actually on the driver's door though.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Hi All,
I must admit to using the "10 to 2" position. I have never felt the need for armrests, when driving.
I suspect that there is an argument for a "lazy" driving position in the lower hand positions.
Best Wishes,
Peter

My preferred position is 10 to 2, but with my elbow on the door - which isn't very comfy 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

roofs are good but very fast electric drivers door windows would be better in my case though

its the hard plastic door handle that hurts my right knee. (it must be in just the right place to press on a nerve) I've a piece of pipe insulation that I keep in the door pocket, and slip over the handle on long journeys, makes it better.

Hhhmm..... Yes, this idea did cross my mind but with regard to my initial query..... Has anyone found a Practical and Tasteful Solution?
10 to 2, 20 to 4, surely our preferred driving position is irrelevant, it's an 'arm rest' a place to rest your arm, which in that respect, I suppose it does what it says on the tin, but we pay all this money for the car and then have to resort to a six inch length of pipe insulation for comfort??
I think not!!
Kepp thinking lads...... someone could be onto a winner here!

Hi John,
In that case, I suspect that your seat is too close to the steering wheel.
