Drive Shaft/CV Boot Question

Hi - apologies for the silly question.

I am half-way through changing the inner and outer CV boots on my 2.7 Auto Disco 3 - in the CV kit I have two boots, 4 metal band clips but also two round metal clips made of small gauge wire.

Can anyone show/tell me where those round wire clips are supposed to go - I didn't find anything the same on the driveshaft when I removed the old boots.

Also I have seen some mention of different grease for the inner and outer boot but the kit I have only seems to have one type of grease (I think!) - it's a Britpart kit if that helps - the boots seem of decent quality.

Thanks in advance

Tim

EDIT - Sorry just realised I put this in the D4 section.. Confused

They go into the groove near the end of the splined part of the driveshaft, where it plugs into the diff. Right hand side in this pic:

Ok that makes sense - my inner boot had split in half so when i pulled the drive-shaft it came away from the inner shaft at the boot so I have just replaced the boot and regreased and did not pull the shaft out of the diff - so I guess thats why i didnt see the clips.
