Yesterday the car came back from the Dealer having had a software update and its like a different car. Gear change is a lot quicker and it no longer tries to kill me on roundabouts. This is exactly as the car was when I collected it from new so can only presume that the work carried out on the sensor had cleared off the software updates.

Happy its back the way it was, thanks for everyones advice....
