DPF issue

New to the forum, Hi

Bought a Discovery Sport HSE 2017 66,000 miles 3 weeks ago. Started it tonight and DPF light came on straightaway, no speed limitation ( previous Disco nearly stopped on motorway which was interesting) Pain in the a@@e but any advice on whether I should try a run up the motorway or head back to dealer?
