The n/s rear door lock on my 2011 D4 has stopped working on the central locking. It moves a bit but does not latch or unlactch leading to lots of alarm action when the kids open the door and a fair bit of climbing over to unlock it manually.
Now this sounds very like the fault I can see extensivly disussed for the D3 with the tip over sping breaking and a very fiddly repair, but no mention of it on the D4.
Does anyone know if it is likely to be the same problem? Are there any posts about getting at the lock on a D4?
I have got as far as removing the door card.
Any help much appreciated.

Well that was a bit of a saga. Followed the really good instructions which were fine until it came to the fiddly bit. On my car there is just no way you can make the door handle cable end accessible through the hole in the door.
I tried everything but no joy so I took the car to the dealers and asked for help. Not for the first time they were really helpful (Caffyns in Lewes to give them a plug). One of the mechanics came out and had a look. He said that they take the door handle off and then feed the lock and the handle out still joined together. Having explained to me how to do it he then offered to take it in and do it for me!
Fifteen minutes and a tip later the lock was swapped and I returned home to do all the reassembly. All working now and good as new.
So I didn't see it done but his explaination was to pull the handle off from the outside . It just slips back and pulls off (suprisingly). Then remove the two screws (one inside and one outside), pull out the plastic plug the inside screw went into and you can feed the whole handle back into the door.
While I was waiting I looked over a Disco XXV - very nice.

Well that made me feel better as I found the job a right pain. In the end I also had to give-up and let the wife have a go.
I'm sure the time to live it down is inversely proportional to the seconds it took her to hook it all up.
